Shamrocks

 Shamrocks are the unofficial symbols of the Irish.  Shamrocks are the national emblem.  Green is a color that represents life and shamrocks are a beautiful rich color of green.  What do you think about when you hear the word “shamrocks?”  Do you think of St. Patrick’s Day and leprechauns?  Four leaf clovers and shamrocks are sometimes confused with good luck.    A majority of people associate shamrocks as good luck but for the Irish Catholic the three leaf shamrocks represents the trinity—God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Isn’t it wonderful to see the spirituality of God represented in such a simple yet beautiful object?

All of us have had periods in our lives when we have bad things happen to us.  It is funny how some people say that these things happen in threes.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful to help someone out with a symbol of hope—a shirt with shamrocks on it or perhaps a piece of jewelry in the shape of shamrocks?

All of us seem to become Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.  Everyone wants the “luck of the Irish.”  What if those “luck of the Irish” or shamrocks could be shared with someone who needs to be told that they are good—they are special?  Shamrocks can be given any time of the year.

For the Irish Catholics or Christians in your life why not share a belief in God with a beautiful symbol of shamrocks.  Perhaps a chain with shamrocks or a figurine with shamrocks and leprechauns would be appreciated by them.
